The Digital Workplace
Due to the innovations in engine room, the workplace has made a drastic change. The most tiny issue facing management as we progress into the insurgent half of the 21st century is the digital workplace. Managing involves many things and technology is now a key piece. From my perspective it is the most exact issue that mangers face because the digital workplace has a domino effect on all beas of an organization to include: competition, globalization, fixedness and responsiveness, and ethics and diversity. Its impact has become a factor of mastery in the 21st century.
Technology is advancing at a rapid pace and mangers have to be prepared. What once may have taken weeks to put to corroborateher can exclusively be done with a click of the mouse. Organizations are communication all over the world in mere seconds. globalization has forced management to think about more competition, a larger market, and a diverse group of workers. Not only is it necessary for the management in the organization to be up to date on technology, they have to be fitting to manage all areas within the organization that technology effects.
No long-term can they only focus on what is going on directly within the organization they have to be able to look on the outside. These rapid changes persuade managers to foresee and formulate for the future.
According to Borghoff (2011), a major drive of globalization is technical progress.
