Introduction
Depression is a state of grief that may be accompanied by feelings of low egotism esteem, emptiness, hopelessness etc. It interferes with a persons twenty-four hours to day life and makes even the most basic activities bet tedious. There are several types of depressive disorders but the most third estate one is major depressive disorder. According to the National Institute of psychogenic Health major depressive disorder is the combination of symptoms that interfere in a persons ability to work, eat, study, quietude, and enjoy erst pleasurable activities. (1). Depression does not last for a definitive amount of time, it is different for everyone and can occur just at once or multiple times in a persons life. Also, not everyone with depressive disorder experiences the same symptoms; however at that place are standard signs to look for. A person with depression will usually be subjected to some combination of helplessness, a loss of interest in daily activities, weight and sleep changes, irritability or restlessness, loss of energy, self loathing, concentration problems, and unexplained aches and pains (2).
Unlike other medical disorders, depression does not have just one underlying cause. It is the result of a combination of genetic, biochemical, environmental, psychological, and social factors (1). These variables can lead to a potpourri of re-wiring of the brain where those afflicted with depression show defects in their brain. Neurotransmitters in the brain are out of balance and the sections of the brain trusty for regulating mood, thinking, sleep, appetite, and behavior do not function right on (1). Risk factors associated with depression include loneliness, stressful experiences such as financial or marital problems, family history of depression, and drug abuse. (2).
