The School originated as a private pharmacy school in 1849 and has been in continuous service, providing quality education in pharmacy and its component sciences since that time. Its near recent innovation is the inclusion of a range of biomolecular sciences. given(p) the expertise of its well-qualified staff it is inevitable that it should continue to passport a broad range of programmes in the pharmaceutical sciences at all academic levels. It currently offers 7 first full point programmes in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical and chemical sciences, together with a range of biomolecular science undergraduate programmes as well as a range of postgraduate programmes.
The major pharmaceutical disciplines of medicative chemistry, pharmaceutics, therapeutics are all in evidence in a broad portfolio of programmes. There are six routes currently offered lead to a Bachelor of Science with Honours award. All of these routes are three- division, full-time programmes. All are also offered as four- grade devise programmes (where the student has the opportunity to experience working for a year in industry between their second and final years).
The School also offers the four-year M.Pharm. Pharmacy programme.
