The short narration Once Upon a Time by Nadine Gordimer was a very sad yet fascinating taradiddle.
What I really liked around the story was that it was a uncomplicated story with some elements of a sprite tale. What with the happily forever after setting, the wise-old witch, the beautiful home being like a castle, and the Mom, Dad, and the little boy being like the King, Queen, and Prince in a fairy tale. Of course, what made it different was that unlike a fairy tale, the story started with the characters living happily ever after and expiration filled with sadness. I really liked the message of this story because it was delivered with uniqueness on its own, as this story was found upon the apartheid in southwesterly Africa. I didnt particularly dislike every part of this story, but would suck in enjoyed it more if there had been an instauration in the beginning closely how the characters came to live happily ever after.
One of the social issues discussed in this story was discrimination based upon race. I know this because the story was about the apartheid in South Africa, where the racist policy long-denied the blacks and other nonwhites civic, social, and economic equality with the whites. I can relate to this personally because when I first immigrated to Canada - about five years ago, kids in my school excluded me.
They did not urgency to be friends with me because I came from another country, and because of that, I was lonely and I did not have any friends for a month. After that, I started getting included and welcomed in group activities, but the meridian Im trying to make is that I have been discriminated before, and I know what it feels like. It definitely is not a pleasant feeling.
One interesting thing about this story was that the pen wanted to write about the apartheid, but did not do so by telling us what happened during that time. Instead, she taught us about this issue by telling us a bedtime story which showed the consequences of the apartheid.
